Masterplanning

Masterplanning is about thinking through the development process rather than focusing on a design vision that may be a long way off in the future.

As Hawkins\Brown manages and guides the development of large-scale projects, we become increasingly aware that the different stages of a project need to be carefully sequenced to consider site access, services diversion and provision, marketing, revitalisation, safety, funding, value, management in detail.

It is the pragmatics of conservation and day to day management that limit the quality or financial success of a masterplan. Hawkins\Brown sees its masterplanning as evolving from a well argued delivery plan and this is increasingly the critical concern of the planning authority.
